How have the arts, culture, and/or humanities impacted your life?
Answer: The arts are like air, electricity or the internet- you don't realize how critical they are to us until they are missing. Having come from a background where my strengths were not in the arts (as far as creating), I was drawn to my wife partly do to her painting talents. Her pictures shed a light into the depth of her personality and strengths that I had not seen previously and led us into a deeper relationship. We now have a 5 yr old daughter who lives and breathes art- drawing, painting, singing, dancing. And it all comes from her mother and it illuminates our home from the inside out. I never new how important it was until I experienced it this way and cannot imagine my life without art and it's influence on my loved ones- and me.

Answer: I support cultural events in balancing their budgets but I am not sure reducing fees for some basic city services in the only method of helping this goal. I would also be open to exploring other options of getting to the same place.
