Answer: Absolutely. I love history. My favorite memories of college was interning in Washington DC. So much history and art so close to me. I gave dozens of tours of the US Capitol and it was the capstone of my time there.

 

Additional Comments: I want people to know they can use their influence to make a difference in the arts and humanities without just voting for tax credits. I became so passionate about the symbolism that art provides that I wrote a bill and later lobbied hard for a bill to create a statue of Martha Hughes Cannon and place her in the United States Capitol’s Statuary Hall. One of my lasting legislative accomplishments was from a county elected office and that makes me even more proud of it.
