A musical journey that simultaneously examines the creative process behind Beethoven's Diabelli Variations and the journey of a musicologist, Katherine Brandt, to discover the meaning behind why Beethoven was compelled to write thirty-three distinct variations on a simple theme by a minor music publisher. It chronicles the discovery of the soul for both Brandt, who has just been diagnosed with ALS and Beethoven in the declining moments of life. In accordance with the Utah Health Guidelines – ALL Guests will be required to wear face coverings at all times in the Utah Theatre. Side by side seating will be allowed.
