About The Ice Front:

The actors of the Norwegian National Theatre find themselves in an uneasy truce with Nazi cultural authorities during the German occupation of Norway. When they are forced to perform a Nazi propaganda piece, conscience comes face-to-face with The Final Solution. The Ice Front honors the heroism of and dangers faced by the trilogy of Nazi victims – Jews, Roma and Homosexuals – by questioning what it means to be an artist, to be a patriot, to be human.

Cast: Kirt Bateman, Daniel Beecher, Ariana Broumas Farber, Stephanie Howell, Jay Perry, Topher Rasmussen, Robert Scott Smith, Emilie Starr, Christy Summerhays. Directed by Jerry Rapier.

Special thanks to dramaturg Greg Hatch.

Designed by: K.L. Alberts (costumes), Cheryl Cluff (sound), Keven Myhre (set), David Rees (lighting), Arika Schockmel (props). Stage managed by Jennifer Freed (assisted by Michael Scott Johnson).

Developed as part of Pioneer Theatre Company’s Play-By-Play Series. From the author of MIASMA, AMERIGO, BORDERLANDS, NOTHING PERSONAL, RADIO HOUR EPISODE 8: FAIRYANA, CLEARING BOMBS, 3 and THE KREUTZER SONATA.
