Volunteers Wanted for the
9th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival 

Salt Lake City, July 20, 2017 – Craft Lake City® is currently seeking volunteers to help us run the 9th Annual DIY Festival® at the Gallivan Plaza on August 11th 5pm – 10pm, 12th Noon – 10pm & 13th Noon – 7pm. The three-day event showcases the works of local craft artisans, DIY engineers, food vendors, live performers and much more. Craft Lake City is looking to build an army of dedicated, motivated and enthusiastic volunteers.


Festival volunteers will receive benefits based on the number of shifts they work such as access to the DIY Festival, free meals, soft drinks, raffle tickets and a rad Craft Lake City volunteer t-shirt. Volunteers get to show off their creativity through the DIY Festival t-shirt contest by creatively altering their volunteer t-shirts however they like and using the hashtags: #clcdiyfest and #DIYtshirtcontest

“We’re thrilled to have Brian Marquez as our new Volunteer Coordinator,” says Craft Lake City’s Executive Director, Angela Brown. “Brain came to us with a lot of enthusiasm and experience working with local volunteers and festivals”.

Volunteers have the opportunity to work in areas such as the Google Fiber STEM Building, the Coca-Cola VIP Lounge sponsored by Harmonds, Kids Area, load in/load out, the Volunteer Lounge, surveying, Parenting Lounge and with the Green Team. In an effort to keep the community active, educated and aware of local DIY culture, Craft Lake City hosts monthly workshops, gallery shows, fundraisers and an annual festival to promote regional spending with independent artisans and businesses. The 2017 DIY Festival will be held at the Gallivan Center, 239 S. Main Street, on Friday, Aug. 11, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 12, from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 13, from noon to 7 p.m.
