SHIFT changes how teachers teach and students learn
SHIFT was conceived in 2006 to provide high-quality, sustainable professional development for K-12 educators to integrate the filmmaking process, often referred to as digital storytelling, into core academic areas. In 2015, SHIFT merged with the Utah Film Center, becoming an integral part of Utah Film Center's expanding educational programming.
Through workshops, SHIFT trains educators how to harness the transformative potential of filmmaking to improve teaching practice, stimulate classroom climate and student engagement, and ultimately, increase student achievement.
The above video, The Bullied Kids by Stevie Dartrell, was created by students from Murray High School using teachings from SHIFT. |
