Celebrate the summer days outside! Jeanne LaRae will take you painting Plein Air (outdoors). Students will meet at the local parks, the McPolin barn, or other picturesque locations throughout beautiful Park City. Jeanne prefers to paint in oils outside, but if there is an interest, she will demonstrate in different mediums. Your medium can be your choice between pastels, oils, watercolor, and acrylics. Snacks water, hats, and sunscreen are encouraged! Enjoy the summer days by painting outside.

KIDS PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP

For kids ages 6-10.
Students will learn the art of Relief Printmaking. In this class, students will learn about the basics of planning, carving into foam blocks, and printing a relief piece. Students will look at Picasso, Hans Holbein, Hokusai, Tom Huck and others as they begin to plan their own print. By the end of the class students will have a good understanding of how printmaking works as well as a multi-copy edition of their work.

CREATURE CREATIONS:
Fun for Families

For all ages; adults & kids register together!
Create crazy creatures with David! Students will use a variety of materials (essentially anything we can find in the studio) to create a family creature or mascot. Families will work together to draw a character in 2D and then create a 3D version of it using boxes, pipe cleaners, feathers, etc. It's a great opportunity for family members to identify their key traits and values and then create a visual version of themselves!

WAKE & DRAW:

*This class is for adults only 18+.
Unwind from the work week and enjoy your Saturday morning in the studio. This class has been offered because of popular demand! Grab an easel or a drawing horse, bring a pad of paper, your preferred drawing medium, and your creativity. A nude and/or draped model will be present to pose. Students will work with the model to communicate positions, quick draw exercises, or extended time draws, etc., which will allow students to continue their study of the figure. There is no instructor during this open studio session, so it is suggested that students who register have figure drawing experience. Wake & Draw is meant to be a creative meeting place for artistic people to share their techniques and skills on a community setting. Come by and try it! Space is limited to 10 students, so please register in advance to reserve your space.

For tots ages 4-5.
Fascinate your toddler with colorful critters as they learn about different bug species around the world! Tots will have an opportunity to experiment with lots of different art media including clay, painting, and sculpture. Parents do not need to accompany children in this class, but students need to be 4 to 5 years of age.
