POTTERY PALS FOR TOTS

For tots ages 4-5.
Get creative with clay as students experiment with clay texture and shapes as they learn basic clay building skills. Students will be introduced to coils, pinch pots and slabs as they hand build fun figures from their imagination. Each class will focus on a different technique, and students will have the opportunity to paint and glaze their mini masterpieces! Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready for pick up 7-10 days after the class session has ended. Parents do not need to accompany children in this class, but students need to be 4 to 5 years of age.

AT YOUR OWN PACE POTTERY

For adults ages 17+.
Work at your own pace in Kimball Clay Studio on Wednesday mornings. Juanita will lead you in a series of skill-building practices that will help you improve your ceramic techniques, allowing you to continue learning the joys of working with clay. The basic skills of pottery making will be taught through step-by-step instruction in clay preparation, throwing on the wheel, trimming, and the firing process. Time permitting, Juanita will also go over glazing and surfacing techniques. We will bisque fire and glaze successful work.

DRAWING FOR KIDS

For kids ages 6-10.
This class encourages students to explore drawing through a variety of materials and methods. Students will become familiar with different drawing techniques as they complete exercises and activities to help them see like an artist and allow their creative imaginations to flourish. The goal is to have fun and gain confidence as they become acquainted with their own unique drawing style.

EXPERIMENTING WITH WATERCOLOR

For adults ages 17+.
Learn the basics of watercolor in this fun experimental course. Each week, students will create a new painting exploring different techniques and subjects (from objects, plants, portraits and references). Class begins with a critique of past paintings or other artwork, then a demonstration of new painting techniques, and personal attention to each student as they experiment with the paint medium. This is a great course for anyone completely new to the medium or experienced watercolorists looking to refresh and deepen their knowledge.

GLASS MOSAIC SUNCATCHERS FOR TEENS

For tweens/teens ages 11-16
Get creative with glass mosaics! Students will use sketching, transferring, and designing techniques to create an abstract schematic arrangement to make a beautiful suncatcher to hang in a window. Stacey will lead students in step-by-step glass mosaic procedures to help students produce a unique piece of mosaic art that they will love!
