In this class, we will demystify the process of depicting a compelling and realistic likeness - among the most complex tasks an artist faces - through careful observation from the live model. In a relaxed, supportive environment, we'll focus on the fundamental mechanics of blocking in the head and face, using simple yet essential techniques and concepts of the picture plane, measuring, proportion, line, positive/negative space, value, volume, basic anatomy, and composition. Lindsay holds a BFA from the University of Utah (2000) and has exhibited her work nationally.  She was awarded the Undergraduate Research Grant and the Painting and Drawing Scholarship from the University of Utah (1999).  Lindsay's work has been featured in Salt Lake Magazine, Southwest Art, and Poets and Artist.  Lindsay currently resides in Salt Lake City.
