UCA is pleased to announce Steven Labrum of 3 Irons as this week's featured member!
Read below to learn more about Steven, his interests and 3 Irons.
How did you get started in your career? Or how did your organization come to be?
It was inspired by a determination to make creativity a priority and to test the limits of creative output by taking on 50 projects in one year.
How would you describe yourself or your organization in three words?
Creativity Support Group
What are your hobbies?
Sailing, live art performance, film, travel
What is your favorite things about Utah's arts, humanities and cultural community?
Because of the strong cultural dogma, artistic expression seems to "matter" here more than in another similar town.
What would you be doing if you weren't working in your current profession?
Briefly describe an experience you've had with the arts or humanities that was impactful.
I took UMOCA's art fitness class. In learning how to digest contemporary art, my entire world view shifted from one of making judgements and assumptions, to seeking meaning and assuming intention.
What's one thing you couldn't live without?
Where's your favorite place in the world?
Right after the main course is served at a dinner party.
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
Don't say "sorry" when you really mean "thank you for your patience/understanding"
Finally, is there anything else you'd like our members to know? (surprising talents, interesting facts, important causes, favorite songs, etc.)
3 Irons isn't just Steven (although these answers are mine). Joy Haynes is my Creative Partner. You can learn more about what we are working on at 3irons.com or @3ironsslc.
