Salt Lake City, Utah — SLUG Magazine is proud to announce the 5th Annual SLUG Cat Presented By The Gateway and New Belgium Brewing in conjunction with our May Bike Issue, out Friday, May 5, 2017. A scavenger hunt–style bicycle race made popular by bike messengers in places like New York and San Francisco, alleycats are a major part of summer for Salt Lake City's bike community.

This year, the race will be starting and ending at The Gateway Mall’s Olympic fountain. Using copies of SLUG's Bike Issue as a manifest, cyclists will race throughout the streets, using skill, speed and a little bit of luck to complete challenges and win big at the 5th Annual SLUG Cat. Past challenges have included everything from skeeball at Proper Brewing Co. to taking a quick spin on a GREENbike. 

Registration will begin at 4 p.m. at The Gateway Fountain (roughly 15 S. Rio Grande Street, Salt Lake City, UT) for $5 per rider. The race will begin at 5 p.m. and go until the awards and after-party back at The Gateway Fountain at 7 p.m.
