Let the Russian empire come alive with this long-awaited voyage to Russia. Professor Gene Fitzgeraldwill take you through Russian history and literature as you explore storied kremlins, ancient cathedrals, and modern Russian life.

  Trip Highlights Include:
  • Guided visits to a broad array of architectural sites, including the Kremlin and Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow, and the Cathedral of the Nativity in Suzdal
  • River excursions on the Moskva River and the Neva River, which gives St. Petersburg the name "Venice of the North"
  • All transportation within Russia, including a luxury bus and flight from Moscow to St. Petersburg
  • Local guides to give us a deep understanding of the sites and their significance
  • Visits to many cultural museums in Moscow, Suzdal, and St. Petersburg; including the Armory museum, the Faberge museum, and the Hermitage

Professor Emeritus, Languages and Literature, University of Utah

Gene Fitzgerald has been a professor of Russian Language and Literature at the U of U since 1969. Throughout his teaching career, Gene has made countless voyages to Russia, guiding students to a greater understanding of its history and culture. Gene also teaches numerous classes for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and has quite a broad fan base for his knowledge, warmth, and flair.
