Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music (OFOAM)

Hello Music Lovers!
The weekend starts early with the FREE community outreach concert tomorrow evening starring Bill Kirchen! You'll want to come early and bring your friends to catch the Utah DrumBus and a performance from The Peterson Brothers. All the fun starts at 6 p.m. at the Ogden Amphitheater, located at 343 Historic 25th Street, Ogden, UT 84401.
We're so happy to work exclusively with our sponsors and friends The Ogden Bicycle Collective! The organization will  provide a bike valet at the Amphitheater. Volunteers are still needed and there's tons of awesome perks. Visit the link for more information.
There's something about live music in the mountains that is so magical, almost impossible to describe. We at OFOAM know that music, especially live music, feeds the soul and recharges us in a way only art can. With only days before the festivities begin, we wanted to remind everyone why our festival is so great. So here are five reasons to fall in love with the Ogden Valley Roots & Blues Festival.

1. Killer Lineup
High profile local acts, along with award-winning blues musicians scatter this year's lineup. Michelle Moonshine, whose sweet voice lures us back again and again will be featured at the festival, along with the iconic and incredibly talented Joe McQueen. New to the festival is headliner Fred Eaglesmith, and The Peterson Brothers who vow to keep blues music alive.

2. Beautiful Surroundings
North Fork Park a designated Dark Sky Space, and is one of the best places to see the stars at night along the Wasatch Front. Miles of trails that surround Cutler Flats are perfect for hikers, cyclists and even horses. Join us for a bike ride with Ogden Mayor Mike Caldwell during the festival weekend. Bring your own bike and hit the trails on Saturday at 9 a.m.

3. Kid Friendly
Part of OFOAM's main mission is to bring the community together through live music, and provide free music education to youth. Exposure to music at a young age can improve and change one's life. Children 16 and youth 16 and younger get in FREE to all OFOAM events. Kids activities and workshops are also free.

4. Supports Local
Money raised from ticket sales goes right back into providing an even better experience at the next OFOAM community outreach concert or music festival. Throughout the year the OFOAM board writes grant requests and throws events to promote our mission and cause of enriching peoples lives with music.

5. Great Atmosphere
What would a festival be without awesome local vendors and delicious food? This year the Roots & Blues fest will feature Lucky Slice Pizza, Roosters, Grounds for Coffee along with clothing like Rock Your Soul Designs and Our Children's Earth. Friends and other music lovers make the festival experience real. With jams around the campfire lasting through the night, the music doesn't stop when the headliner says goodnight.
