ACME Session | Raising Socially Conscious
and Conscientious Youth
Wednesday, September 13 | 6:30 pm*
Salt Lake City Public Library, Main Library
*Join us for refreshments at 6 pm.
Through art and experiential activities, this session is centered on building inclusive and socially just communities by inspiring our youth. We will focus on ways to create spaces for youth to cultivate positive cultural identities, enhance empathy through deep awareness, and nurture their power of belief.
Session leaders will guide participants in three projects while addressing the following questions: How can children's early understanding of race, gender, and other social identities shape how they feel about who they are and who they can become? What do youth discover when they are encouraged to slow down and use all of their senses? How do we encourage children to leverage hope and belief to build the world they want to live in? People of all ages are encouraged to attend.
