WESTAF-Region Executive Directors, 
As you know, WESTAF is engaging in a number of advocacy activities in support of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). As part of our efforts, we have created a dedicated area on our website where we will regularly post the latest information on this issue. In addition to posting updates regarding the NEA FY18 budget, we have created several advocacy resources that are now available at www.westaf.org/nea-advocacy/.

 

We have also created an Advocacy Toolkit for advocates engaged in the current NEA budget advocacy effort. The toolkit contains step-by-step guides for calling, writing, and meeting with members of Congress, in addition to talking points to use when you engage with members of Congress or their staff. Also presented is a sample email/letter to your member of Congress, a sample phone script, and ways to help #SavetheNEA via social sharing. Advocates can also access data and reports to help make the case for NEA funding by visiting CVSuite’s recently launched Resource Center.
