Welcome Message from Jennifer!
Happy Fall! It was so great to meet new people and reconnect with old colleagues at last week's Utah Museums Association Conference in Vernal, UT. There are so many great ideas and wonderful projects being worked on, and the conference is a great reminder of all the hard work our community is doing.
We here at the Utah Division of Arts & Museums Museum Services Office are hard at work and have wonderful news--we have a new staff member that has transitioned to the team. Emily Johnson is now serving as the state’s Museum Specialist and is here to serve as another contact for you. Feel free to say hi to her or reach out to her about museum related needs at [email protected] or 801.245.7289

REMINDER: UTAH CERTIFIED MUSEUMS

Certification required to receive Museums grants!
Please check with our office to confirm your certification status. Certification is now valid for 5  years after application approval. To apply for certification, please complete the application on our website.
Upcoming Hands-On Session
Join staff from Museum Services for a hands-on session on how to label and mark your museum's objects. Attendees will walk away from this session knowing how to mark works on paper (including photographs), textiles, and select 3D objects. Attendees will also leave with a supplies list on how to build their own object marking kit. Attendance is free of cost, but registration is required, and space is limited. For more information and to register, click here.
Museum Grants open November 27th, and updated guidelines will be available soon - keep an eye out for our announcement! For now, make sure you're prepared to apply by confirming that you are a certified museum.
Grant Writing Workshops

The grants managers from the Utah Division of Arts & Museums and Utah Humanities are headed back on the road to offer a few more workshops in four different counties. The workshops are free, but the registration is limited, and the workshop may fill up.
