Have you always wanted to learn to craft your own jewelry using silver and other metals?  Join Jan as she instructs students in the art of metalsmithing including sawing, shaping, soldering, forming, polishing and stone setting. Students should be able to create at least three finished projects in class. This class is for beginners.

YogART FOR TEENS

BYO yoga mat.
For teens/tweens ages 11-16.
 
Be creative and active in YogART with Randi Jo!  During the first hour, Randi Jo will lead a yoga lesson with the teens.  During the second half of the class, teens will participate in an art project that aligns with the theme of the day.  Students will learn about mandalas, chakras, meditation, and mindfulness while creating and having fun!

For tots ages 4-5.
 
Tots have fun with Cameron learning about sculpture and 3D forms. Experiment with paper, cardboard, clay, and fun mixed media materials. Tots will make something new each day to bring home.  Think outside the box, think 3D! Parents do not need to accompany children in this class, but students need to be 4 to 5 years of age.

KIDS PRINTMAKING WORKSHOP

For kids ages 6-10.
 
Students will learn the art of Relief Printmaking. In this class, students will learn about the basics of planning, carving into foam blocks, and printing a relief piece. Students will look at Picasso, Hans Holbein, Hokusai, Tom Huck and others as they begin to plan their own print. By the end of the class students will have a good understanding of how printmaking works as well as a multi-copy edition of their work.

Three Stick Kite Workshop

For adults ages 17+.
 
Join visiting artists Jose Sainz and Scott Skinner in a unique kite making workshop. Students will create a small three stick flying kite made out of bamboo sticks covered with natural fiber light weight paper in the color and texture of their liking. Founder of theDrachen Foundation, Scott Skinner has been active in kite making for over 25 years. He is a frequent lecturer, writer, and workshop leader. He has amassed collections of kites, kite ephemera, European kite prints and Japanese ukiyo-e. Jose Sainz has been making and flying kites since 1989. Over the years he has attended and displayed kites at numerous National and International kite festivals around the world. He has also conducted kite-making workshops all around the nation. Jose has been a long time member of the Kite Art Committee for the AKA and was recently named to the Board of the directors for the Drachen Foundation in Seattle, WA.
