JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Utah Division of Arts and Museums is looking for a Community Arts Coordinator to support the program manager with logistical, administrative, and outreach support for all Community Arts programs, workshops, trainings, and conferences. The Community Arts Coordinator will act as point person in support of Local Arts Agencies across the state and should have strong communication skills for interacting with constituents. Our ideal candidate will have strong event planning and project management skills, including experience with tracking and measuring program successes. In addition, our candidate must have strong interpersonal and time management skills and be able to work in a flexible team environment.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
  • Support program manager in tasks as assigned within Community Arts programs which include: Mountain West Arts Conference, Performing Arts, Local Arts Agencies, Change Leader, and other initiatives.
  • Provide services and technical support to Local Arts Agencies across the state, including but not limited to meetings, workshops, site visits, newsletters and online resources. This person will also act as the staff point person for the Local Arts Agencies grant.
  • Promote Community Arts events and programs through various outreach efforts and communication channels (social media, digital media, videos, etc.)
  • Act as an advocate for rural Utah organizations and communities in accessing arts services.
  • Serve as one of the lead coordinators of the Mountain West Arts Conference, including coordinating the Local Arts Agency Summit.
  • Update and maintain program-related content for the website including ongoing research for arts, museums and other cultural funding sources and toolkits etc.
  • Maintain constituent database and track program performance and success.
  • Assist with other clerical duties and special projects for the Community Arts Program as needed.
  • Travel in-state as needed to fulfill obligations of the program.
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with event management and planning.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, Adobe and Social Networking sites.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a flexible team environment.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Local Arts Agency or nonprofit organization experience or knowledge a plus.
