Position Requirements:
•Demonstrated skills in planning, time management, flexibility,
organization and independent work proficiency.
•Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize
appropriately.
•Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be
sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with
others.
•Ability to attend all trainings and meetings as required even if
scheduled outside normal working or regular scheduled hours.
•Must be able to work autonomously within the YMCA core values
of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
College degree preferred, ideally a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing,
communications, fund-development, non-profit management or
related field. Previous work experience not required, ideally 1-2
years of marketing, communications, event planning or fundraising
experience, Non-profit and/or YMCA experience highly preferred.
Ability to use a computer in order to effectively perform job duties.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
General Skills & Abilities:
Working with the Development Manager they will help complete a
donor relationship plan to secure gifts from individual donors
through various phases of the relationship. Tasks will cover the
various stages of donor relationship management such as: donor
prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, recognition and impact
reporting. Campaign activities will encompass the Annual
Campaign, Giving Society, Workplace Giving and other community
led activities that promote individuals to support our work.
Enhance and update systems in place to report, identify, track and
monitor key indicators recorded in the new Donor Management
System for individual donors. Using the database to assist will
evolving existing processes to increase the # and amount raised
through individual giving.
Help modify, develop marketing materials according to the donor
relationship plan (presentations, web pages, flyers, donation
cards, thank you cards, program impact sheets, etc).
Assist with strengthening our ability to report our impact to key
stakeholders including individual donors. Understand current
methods of performance evaluation and community needs
assessment. Assist with capturing all methods currently used to
track and report on community’s needs and program
outcomes/impact. Meet with key staff to help design a new
community assessment plan. Coordinate the implementation of
survey(s)/community assessment(s) of communities identified.
Collect, analyze and report on findings of quantitative/qualitative
data.
