The Folklore Society of Utah Presents Ballet Folklorico Newára
Mexican Folklorico dance troupe Newára will perform as part of the Folklore Society of Utah’s annual conference November 3 and 4. Newára means “Remember” in the language of the indigenous Tarahumaras from the Sierra of Chihuahua State in México. Through the group’s performances of dance and music they want everyone to “remember” and respect the traditions and folklore of México–as inspiration for upcoming generations, and as a cultural outreach to the broader community.
