DREAMS OF A LUCID TRAVELER | Aleta Boyce

Ethereal and magical, Aleta Boyce's light sculptures reveal her fascination with translucensy and light. Carefully and meticulously built with paper, caning, lights, wire frames and resin, the sculptures glow, either from light passing through them, or from strategically placed lights illuminating them from within.

With this installation, Boyce brings to life sketches she has collected over time – renderings of layered translucent paintings, mobiles, sculptures on stilted legs, impossible structures and fragile creations. "Each is a metaphor and a part of a larger story," Boyce says.

Photograph of a glowing desert sky in night. There is a huge red rock wall on the left that contains petroglyphs of animals. The right side of the image shows a yellowish brown star-studded sky and part of a mountan.

ANCIENT NIGHTS | Marc Toso

Marc Toso's photographs reflect his passions for the natural landscape, ancient ruins, mysterious petroglyphs and a timeless sky.

Toso prefers capturing his photographic images at night. "The kaleidoscope of stars and planets above our heads is the same prehistoric sky that guided these ancient architects. These sites need to be appreciated in their original context under the same dark, starlit sky, which has inspired our religions, mythologies, mathematics, and sciences," he explains.
