ONCE IN ISRAEL by Marie Nelson Bennett
A multi-movement oratorio scored for chorus, orchestra and soloists. Based on poetry by Emma Lou Thayne, the dramatic oratorio describes the author’s visit to Israel, the impressions of her arrival and being a woman there, the harshness of war, the beauty of the Beatitudes, and the peace of a Beduin mother’s lullaby.
