Applications for the 9th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival

Salt Lake City, April 14  Applications for the 9th Annual Craft Lake City DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Festival close at midnight on Monday, April 17. Craft Lake City invites all interested makers in the categories of artisan, craft food, vintage vendor, performer, or DIY engineer to apply now.

Now in its 9th year, the DIY Festival celebrates all things creative in Utah. In addition to browsing the many unique artisan, vintage and craft food booths, attendees can enjoy live entertainment on two stages, a Kids' Area, a VIP Lounge, a free bike valet, and the STEM Building, featuring cutting edge science-meets-art projects from some of the state's most innovative minds.

"I'm inspired every year by the creativity and quality displayed by DIY Festival exhibitors," said Angela H. Brown, Executive Director of Craft Lake City. "We love showcasing the amazing diversity of our community at the DIY Festival every year. Craft Lake City is so pleased to provide this opportunity to the many talented and hard-working makers in Utah."


The 2017 festival will be held Friday, Aug. 11, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 12 from noon to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 13 from noon to 7 p.m. The festival will be held at the Gallivan Center, located at 239 S. Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City. Admission is $5 and children 12 and under are free.

Our mission is to educate, promote and inspire local artisans while elevating the creative culture of the Utah arts community through science, technology and art. In an effort to keep the community active, educated and aware of local DIY culture, Craft Lake City hosts monthly workshops, gallery shows, fundraisers and an annual festival to promote regional spending with independent artisans and businesses.
