WHEEL THROWING
FOR KIDS I

*This class is recommended for students who are 7-10. 6 year olds who have wheel throwing experience may also register.
Learn how to create wheel thrown pottery in this class. After a demonstration on the first day, students will work on the wheel to perfect their techniques and create wheel thrown forms! Students must have previous experience in handbuilding with clay. Students must have strength in their arms in order to control the clay on the wheel in this class! Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready for pick up 10-12 days after class has ended.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN MEDIUM: Pastel & Watercolor
Tuesdays, January 31; February 7, 14, 21, 28; March 7
10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
With Jeanne LaRae
$260 + $20 materials fee.
For adults ages 17+.
These sessions will teach the basics of each medium. Intermediate students are welcome to participate as Jeanne will work at the individual pace of each student. Jeanne will teach you how to use the correct tools and the correct methods to achieve an awesome painting.On the first day of class, please bring one piece of Masonite or a thick wood panel to tape down the paper. Jeanne LaRae/Kimball Art Center will supply the pastels and the watercolor. This will allow you to explore these new mediums without a huge investment. This is a class that will help you learn the skills to move forward into other drawing and painting classes with more confidence and abilities to paint either on your own or along with an instructor. This class will be split into two sessions - 3 classes focusing on pastel, and 3 classes focusing on watercolor. You are welcome to continue in one medium if you choose.

EXPLORATIONS
IN PAINTING I

For adults ages 17+.
Take time to relax and learn to paint with either acrylic or oil paints in this class (student's choice). Students will learn to paint from references - either photographs and/or still life sets. Students can bring in their own photographs to paint. By the last day of class, students will have the skills necessary to continue painting on their own, or advance to another class.

HARRY POTTER CREATIVE DRAWING

For teens/tweens ages 11-16.
Students will learn about the origins of the mythical creatures featured in the Harry Potter Saga, and will learn to draw a selection of them by focusing on each body part individually by using references. The last day of class, students will create their own imaginary mythical creature using the processes learned.
